🚀 My Journey Through “Prompt Design in Vertex AI” by Google Cloud & Hack2Skill
Recently, I had the opportunity to complete the “Prompt Design in Vertex AI” course — a hands-on, skill-based module by Google Cloud, offered through the Hack2Skill GenAI Hackathon.
This course provided me with in-depth, practical experience on how to use Vertex AI Studio to design, refine, and manage prompts for large language models. Throughout the course, I explored the key components of prompt engineering, including:
- ✅ How to structure prompts using system instructions to guide the model’s tone and behavior
- âś… How to improve output quality by using few-shot prompting (adding input-output examples)
- âś… How to incorporate multimodal inputs, such as uploading an image and generating descriptive outputs using the model
- ✅ Hands-on experimentation with Imagen, Google’s powerful image generation model
This experience significantly deepened my understanding of how to interact with foundation models like PaLM 2 and Gemma, and how prompt design plays a critical role in shaping their responses.
