Fried Eggs, Tomatoes and AI Bias. Why you can’t find a GenAI tool to side… | by Tuana | Jan, 2025

A while back, I was served cherry tomatoes with my breakfast. It’s not something you expect in Thailand, at least not from my experience. Cherry tomatoes are one of my favorite snacks. I grab them whenever I see them, choosing them over any packaged snacks.
But this time, I didn’t touch any.
My travel buddy, who’s seen me pop cherry tomatoes into my mouth during countless evening chats, was more surprised by me not eating them than by the tomatoes themselves. I caught his expression, no words needed.
— “I hate how tomatoes taste with eggs.”
Cue more confusion, because I frequently order tomato egg stir-fry.
— “Fried eggs,” I clarified, waving my fork for emphasis.
— “What are you even talking about?” he said, half-laughing.
I could have sworn I’d seen something online declaring “fried eggs and tomatoes are the worst combo ever.”
So, I tried Googling it. But the search didn’t bring me what I was looking for.
Why didn’t I ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot instead of Googling the old-fashioned way?
